FAQ
Does WildCore work without internet?
Yes — fully. All survival guides, plant identification (on-device AI), navigation, SOS setup, and tools work completely offline. An internet connection is only required for the initial download and subscription management.
Does the app collect my location data?
No. Your GPS location is used locally on your device for navigation, SOS coordinates, and sunrise/sunset calculations. It is never transmitted to our servers. SOS SMS sends your coordinates directly to your contacts via your carrier — we never see them.
Is plant identification safe for foraging?
The AI plant ID feature is a reference tool only. It is not 100% accurate and many edible plants have toxic look-alikes. Never consume any wild plant based solely on the app's output. Always verify with multiple authoritative sources and a qualified botanist.
How does the SOS feature work?
WildCore sends an SMS containing your current GPS coordinates to the emergency contacts you've configured in the app. The SMS is sent from your device via your mobile carrier. The feature requires cellular signal. It is a supplemental safety tool — always try to reach official emergency services (911, 112, etc.) first.
Is WildCore free?
WildCore offers core features for free. A premium subscription unlocks additional content, guides, and features. Subscriptions are managed via Apple App Store or Google Play.
